I went on the Rock about 6 years ago and had fantastic memories so decided to return when I was in Paihia this year. I certainly wasn't disappointed! I was travelling alone but the crew and other passengers made me feel very welcome and included in everything. The crew were full of energy and passion and went absolutely out of their way to make sure everyone - families, couples, solo travelers had a great time and got what they hoped out of the cruise. Loved all the activities - fishing, night kayak, getting the courage to jump in for a snorkel, beautiful Island stopover, relaxing on the deck as we sailed through the Bay and enjoying a drink and toasting marshmallows over the fire at night!
Our team had the most amazing time provided by the crew at The Rock Adventure Cruise! It was our Christmas function, and we had so much fun Kayaking, Paddle boarding and Fishing! Nothing was too much trouble and they really looked after us. The only problem now is to find something to top it next year! Highly recommended day out for anyone who loves the ocean and a bit of an adventure. Thanks so much guys - we will be back!
This is a highly recommended cruise. The staff are welcoming and friendly that you don't feel you are among strangers. The Skipper Jonny is a gem of a host. The staff give brilliant insights about the place, the fish that you may catch, and all other activities such as snorkelling, fishing, kayaking or paddle boarding. The boat itself has everything that you need - table tennis, pool table, chess, guitar, ukulele, sleeping area upstairs. The food is well cooked and is tasty as well. Overall experience: Will do this cruise trip again 100%.
My wife and I went out for a Full Day Trip on The Rock during mid-November and it was awesome! Another beautiful sunny day in the Bay of Islands meant we were able to head out snorkelling, lie on the beach (had it all to ourselves) and do a bit of fishing (another customer on the boat even caught a Kingfish!). Really helpful and friendly staff made the experience super enjoyable. Very professional company from booking through till the end, highly recommend to anyone looking to head out in the water in the Bay of Islands. Even if you are a kiwi, been out on the water lots and think you've seen it all, I can absolutely guarantee you'll learn something new and have a great time on The Rock. :) Cheers team
I had an amazing time on the boat with the crew - Johnny and Daniel. The whole day was entertaining from start to finish. You get to see a lot of the Bay and try kayaking, go for a swim, SUP, or a walk on an island. We went snorkeling and Daniel was getting kina for the boat. It's definitely worth the trip and a great way to get in the sights. I would do it again with other friends the next time I am up there.
